Ricky Wrathall Memorial Award presented to Jessica Gracie, by Art Gillis (coach), Wrathall family member, Jessica Gracie and Doug Sulliman. Award is presented each year to a player from our hockey association who exemplifies sportsmanship and dedication to the sport of hockey.

Doug Sulliman who has been playing a big part in supporting our association this past year, was presented with a the newest  edition of MINER’s jersey with accented customized miniature cresting depicting the New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils, Hartford Whalers and Philadelphia Flyers. Charlie Campbell, our GBMHA website co-ordinator for the past 6 years will be leaving, so he was also presented with a personalized new MINER’s jersey in appreciation for his dedicated website work for our association.

On the left, Leah Byrne who captured the Most Valuable Player and Most Goals in the tournament. On the right, Jodi Dauphine who earned an All-StarvDefense Award.

Congratulations to Emily Routledge who scored 5 goals and added 2 assists to win the 2012 Female Bantam "A" Scoring Award during the Nova Scotia Provincials, March 23-25 in Halifax. Of the 10 goals scored by the Miner's during their round-robin play, Routledge made a scoring contribution on 7 of her team's tallies.    

Congratulations to our Glace Bay Miner's hockey team who competed in the Nova Scotia Atom AAA Hockey Provincials held in Antigonish this weekend. During the recent 2012 NS Provincial Pee Wee AAA Championships held at the BAYplex March 8-11 the Miners really appreciated the terrific fan support they received at each of their games!. 

In the above game photo, Miner's Atom AAA unloads a high slap shot to score his "hat-trick" game winning goal which helped his team to defeat the CB West Eagles 3-2 to win the ATOM Cape Breton CUP and to advance the MINERS to the NS ATOM AAA Provincials later this month in Antigonish.

Sunday March 12th the MINERS won the ATOM AAA Cape Breton Cup and at the same time qualified to advance to the NS ATOM AAA Provincials...Congratulations MINERS !

In today's Championship PW AAA Provincial Final game, Kaine Drake was awarded his team's Player Of The Game for his stellar performance between the pipes for the MINERS.

Glace Bay Miner's forward Connor Campbell won the Player of the Game award folowing his effort to today's NS Provincial PW AAA semi-final game against CB West Eagles scoring one goal and assisting on another in their 5-0 victory.

Miner's goaltender Cody Smith played a standout game Saturday for the Miner's against Halifax and was awarded with the POG recognition. Also later that afternoon Cody competed in the NS Provincials SKILL CONTEST and won the BEST GOALTENDER AWARD. Congratulations CODY !
